EARTH RECORD: An interactive cartographic artwork by Edinburgh-based artist-developer Aleksandrs Sestakovs / Q888, layering fictional histories and hidden doors onto real city geography.
Once upon a volcanic accident, before humans invented toasters or taxes, this corner of the world was a playground for wandering castles, invisible tradesmen, and time-displaced mushrooms. The locals — mostly ████ and politely carnivorous ███ — called it a quiet place, though nothing about it stayed quiet for long.
Each bump on the map hides a ████ cursed story, best discovered accidentally. Some doors won’t open unless you ████ and ████. Others demand riddles, bribes, or interpretive dance. If you’re lucky, they’ll ignore you entirely.
Welcome to Edinburgh — where magic retired but still drinks in public.
